1)  EXPLAIN THE FORMAT FEATURES OF PRODUCTION

  1. DRAMA SERIES (CONTINUING DRAMA)                                                                                        Drama series are usually very episodic and full of unlucky things happening. In the UK, a show with 3-15+ episodes is called either a series or a season. On the other hand, the US only use the word season. Although in the UK the average number of episodes in a season are 6; usually the most successful dramas are the ones that have more episodes and more seasons; for example Peaky Blinders.
  2. DRAMA SERIALS                                                                                                                                 Drama Serial is a television show which has a continuous plot that unfolds in sequential episode-by-episode fashion. They are stories shared in many parts (episodes) and are often based on real events. Take Pablo Escobar's show as an example. ''Narcos'', translating to drugs in English, is one of the most famous drama serials of the decade. Pablo Escobar was a well-known criminal and this show unfolded hie life struggles and showed the audience how smart and unpredictable Pablo was.
  3. SINGLE DRAMA                                                                                                                                   The single drama used to be a staple of television but is now quite rare. It is designed as a ‘one-off’ story for television as this is only broadcasted once. Single drama reflects real life. Single dramas are often based on topical issues – subject matter that producers think is more appropriate to television than the cinema, for example ‘Dirty War’ about a terrorist attack on London, X Factor, and Crime watch.
